The frustration of waiting for something promised is always difficult - especially when there are deadlines, tasks and people to organise!
We were hoping to have completed by Friday but Friday came and went. We are told that the paperwork is on its last leg of signatures and should be back with the C of E solicitors by Monday. We hope very much to complete by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Everything else is in place so we must continue to wait.
Habakkuk, one of the Old Testament prophets knew all about waiting. In chapter 2 he writes;
"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay."
It seems heartless advice really ... Just wait for it. I guess what he is saying is that God's timing is perfect and that we must put our frustrations to one side and wait patiently until what He has ordered comes to pass. May God help us!
